There has been a race for remaining availability at seaside holiday properties since the Government’s recovery roadmap was announced. Space may be tight, but if you’re willing to look around there are some amazing seaside holiday rentals still available for summer 2021.

See our guide to the places and weeks with the most and least availability this summer >

Here are ten coastal properties that you can book right now for summer 2021:
(properties still available for some summer weeks at the time of writing).

1. Flat 3 Sea View, Lowestoft, Suffolk

Suffolk is exceptionally busy this summer with 97% of properties already booked. Hotspots like Aldeburgh and Southwold sold out months ago. However, it is still possible to find somewhere to stay in alternative locations along the coast. One Suffolk property with plenty of availability for the summer is this modern first-floor apartment overlooking the beach and promenade on Lowestoft’s seafront. The highlight of this two-bedroom property is the bay window where you can gaze out to sea.

2. Honeysuckle Cottage, Charlestown, Cornwall

It’s difficult to find anything available in Cornwall this summer. Despite having the largest stock of properties of all coastal destinations, this holiday favourite is 95% booked for the school summer holidays. So we were surprised to find that this traditional cottage in Charlestown has a few weeks left for holidaymakers in July and August. This charming, two-bedroom mid-terrace property overlooks the historic harbour and is a short walk from the beach.

3. Church View, Old Hunstanton, Norfolk

Visitors to Norfolk generally flock to Cromer, Sheringham and Wells-next-the-Sea where bookings are well above the county average of 92%. But if you venture further away from these popular destinations, you can find a few holiday homes still available for this summer. One such property is this spacious two-bedroom apartment in the pretty village of Old Hunstanton, which is only a short walk from a glorious sandy beach and close to the amenities in the nearby town of Hunstanton.

4. Fishermans Cottage, Brixham

Devon is already 93% full for the summer. Don’t expect to find anything in places like Croyde, Instow or Salcombe. But some of the larger coastal destinations such as Torquay and Paignton have a few spaces left. Just down the road in Brixham, this beautiful harbourside cottage has a few weeks left for July and August. The two-bedroom property has glorious views from the windows and from the roof-top garden, and is only a short walk to the nearest beach.

5.Paradwys, Tenby, Pembrokeshire

At 91% booked, Pembrokeshire is the most popular area of Wales for a coastal holiday. Almost everything is booked for the main summer weeks including the beach lover’s favourite of Tenby. So we were amazed to discover this ground-floor property in one of the famous multi-coloured terraced houses on the town’s seafront. It’s the ideal spot for days at the beach and exploring the local coastline of the Pembrokeshire National Park.

6. Little Thatch, Walton-on-the-Naze, Essex

Although it neighbours the UK’s busiest destination of Suffolk, the coast of Essex has the lowest booking levels nationally on our site at only 42% for the summer weeks. But with over 350 miles of coastline, several blue-flag status beaches, glorious countryside and pretty seaside towns, it should not be overlooked. One of the jewels of the coast is Walton-on-the-Naze, where this property is located. It’s a pretty, chocolate box cottage with two bedrooms close to the town’s sandy beach famous for its multi-coloured beach huts.

7. Coastguard Cottage, Fleetwood, Lancashire

The Lancashire has its own special character, best known for the bright lights and seaside amusements in Blackpool. But a little further up the coast, the town of Fleetwood has more of a laid back nature with a sandy beach, boating lake and esplanade with panoramic sea views across Morecombe Bay. Coastguard Cottage is a three-bedroom holiday home close to the seafront and local amenities, so it’s ideal for a family holiday on the North West coast.

Most people head to Cumbria for the lakes and mountains of the Lake District. So the county’s coastline often gets overlooked. At only 68% booked, this seaside destination is a good option for a coastal holiday this year. Amazingly, this two-bedroom holiday home is still available for several weeks this summer. Located on a green peninsula and close to the beach, it’s a wonderful base for exploring the coast and day trips to the Lakes.

The Welsh coast is proving very popular this year with beach break Brits. But there are some areas of the country where it’s still possible to book a staycation by the sea. Conwy at the top of Wales is one such destination where current summer bookings are only 69%. Properties with clear sea views have already been snapped up, but if you’re willing to stay a few streets back from the seafront there are some good options. One of these is Hyfrydle, which overlooks the Victorian seaside town of Llandudno. It’s located on the slopes of Great Orme’s Head, so it’s perfect for bracing walks to enjoy the spectacular sea views.
