This holiday home is only yards from the shoreline and a 5-minute walk from Millport town centre on the Isle of Cumbrae. There is a sandy beach with tropical palms fronting the promenade, and yachts are moored out in the sheltered bay. The town offers cafés, shops, bars and a bistro. The Isle of Cumbrae offers a truly relaxing escape, and is hugely popular with cyclists and walkers, yet is just a 10-minute water crossing from mainland Ayrshire on ferries which run very frequently during the summer. A haven for wildlife, Cumbrae attracts migrant birds from around the world and the flora of the island is equally varied, and a visit to the island’s Marine Research Station with it museum and aquarium is a must. There is a water sports centre on the island offering various courses including kayaking and canoeing. Millport is also the home of Europe’s smallest cathedral and Britain’s narrowest house. Newtown Bay in the village offers sheltered anchorages and secure moorings. Beach 50 yards. Shop, pub and restaurant 500 yards.

"We booked Thorn Bank for a big family celebration, my parents' diamond wedding anniversary. It was an absolutely FABULOUS house. Probably the best equipped house we've stayed in. The views were beautiful from the lounge window and we loved the balcony at the back. We have so many happy memories of Millport through out the ages and 3 generations of us love this island. West Thorn brought us all together. Great kitchen and lovely bathrooms. We want to do it all again. One tiny thing - one more set of keys would have been handy for a big group but apart from that it was perfect."

"A beautifully clean, recently refurbished house in a superb location. The kitchen was well stocked with pans, plates and cutlery so we were able to prepare substantial family meals. We could seal watch from the lounge window and the playground and beach opposite was perfect for our family holiday. The bike ride around the island is a must as are visits to the excellent cafes and pubs nearby.We loved every minute."

"You will be able to choose any one of the following three options if we or the accommodation provider cancel your booking, or if you cancel your booking because UK government public health measures mean that it is unlawful to travel to or make use of the accommodation you booked:
Full refund - we will refund you the full amount you have paid for your booking.
Transfer to a later date or different accommodation - subject to availability, we will help you move your booking to a later date or even a new location or accommodation with no admin fees, but please be aware that if the cost of your new accommodation is higher than your original booking, then you’ll need to pay the difference.
Choose an e-voucher to rebook your holiday online - you can request an e-voucher for the amount you have previously paid for your booking. You can then use it to book a new holiday online or towards another existing booking, without having to call us. Vouchers issued in 2020 are valid until 31st December 2020 and can be used on holidays departing before 31st December 2021.
Plus, to give our customers the added flexibility they need at this time, for any bookings with arrival dates on or before 31 December 2020, the following applies:
Pay for your 2020 break just 3 weeks before you go - to give you more time to pay for your holiday during these uncertain times, we’ve moved the balance due date for bookings with arrival dates up to 31st December 2020 to just 21 days before your holiday is due to start. If you choose to cancel your holiday before your balance due date, then we will waive your liability for the remainder of the balance and no further amount will be collected from you. If you choose to cancel on or after your balance due date, then you will need to pay the cancellation charges (according to the number of days before the start of your holiday) as set out in the cancellation charges table which you can find in your booking conditions, as well as any applicable booking fees, admin charges or insurance premiums that you owe. *If you have booked a property that is stated to sleep 10 people or more and your booking begins between 1 September and 31 December 2020, your balance due date will remain at 12 weeks prior to the holiday start date as set out in the booking conditions."
