350 yards from Ringmore's excellent pub is this bigger part of a roomy detached house (the owner lives in an annexe). With amazing views out to sea from all the rooms, it is super accommodation for family or friends to enjoy a wonderful break on this lovely coastline. Leave your coats and boots in the entrance hall and go on through to the large open plan living space with traditional stone walls and a cosy wood burning stove. You will enjoy those great views down the valley from the comfort of the sofas and window seats and from the big dining table. At the end of a lovely day on the beach, head on up for a peaceful night in the three bedrooms, with either en suite or a washbasin, plus a door from each room on to the first floor balcony which has a table and chairs for gazing over the sea and the fabulous sunsets. Outside you have your own terrace with barbecue and also with those tranquil coastal views. For a quiet little beach, take the footpath which leads down the valley to National Trust Ayrmer Cove in 900 yards, or go to Challaborough and Bigbury-on-Sea with your bodyboards, surf boards and buckets and spades for brilliant seaside fun on big sandy beaches. For eating out, the local inn is renowned or a couple of miles away is an excellent seafood restaurant. And you can walk it all off with long hikes along the South West Coast Path - don't forget your camera. Ayrmer House is an outstanding location with walks radiating from the doorstep and a stunning coastline.

Reviews

“Lovely, spacious house, very comfy beds, well equipped kitchen and the views are breath taking. Ella, the house owner was fantastic, really helpful. Ringmore is a very pretty hamlet with a great pub Journey's End. Several short walks take you to beautiful Ayrmer Cove. Other nice beaches are nearby and there are lots of places to visit ie Totnes, Dartmouth. We would love to return”

“Ayrmer House has wonderful facilities and a stunning view to match, looking down to Ayrmer Cove. Upstairs three doubletwin bedrooms, one ensuite, and downstairs a large lounge, dining room, kitchen area. A downstairs utility room, one downstairs loo, with another and a separate bathroom upstairs. A terrace making the most of the views. The owner's property is part of the same building. Wildlife around included a pair of buzzards and a kestrel which could be watched from the house. Wifi is best in the lounge. No mobile signal, but a landline phone operated on an honesty basis. Freesat TV. Excellent pub (The Journeys End) within staggering distance. No shop in the village, but one not far in St Ann's Chapel, along with another pub (Pickwick Inn) which specialises in Italian food as well as doing an excellent Sunday roast. We would definitely go back.”

“There are not many places that have a stunning uninterrupted view of the sea from EVERY bedroom...AND the living room....AND the kitchen! It's a delightful walk to Ayrmer Cove, with Burgh Island in one direction along the coastal path, and Wonwell Beach and Kingston Village in the other direction. The house is light, nicely furnished and well equipped. The beds and bed linen (clean and crisply ironed) are very comfortable with fluffy towels. Each bedroom has a door out on to the balcony and views down the valley. The largest room is en suite. The living space is open plan, lovely wood burner, relaxing space by the long windows to gaze at the view or night skies , and connects through to dining and kitchen areas, with a proper pantry. We arrived to home baked lemon drizzle cake, a supply of tea and coffee, milk in the fridge, and a bottle of wine! It's remote, but so peaceful. We found the local store (about one mile away) very well stocked, and tempting with local Devon produce. Salcombe is worth a visit, and the Oyster Shack is only a very short drive away. The Journey's End, local pub in Ringmore is great for Sunday lunch.”
