“We had a wonderful break at Seashore Retreat. We loved Johnshaven. Everyone was very friendly. We loved the Anchor Pub and the Lobster Pot. The local shop had everything we needed and the wonderful bakery at Inverburvie had delicious bread & croissants. I was tempted by the cottage for sale the other end of the village.Seashore Retreat was very well equipped. Masses of hot water and a very powerful shower. We had the heating on a lot it was a very cold spell but the cottage warmed up very quickly with everything on full blast. We had a marvellous time. Thank you.”

“The cottage is in a brilliant location, if you are a fan of the coast. Great Coastal Trail walking both North and South, the southern route being particularly scenic.Johnshaven is an interesting and quirky village and we had a good wander round. The Anchor Inn was great, food was good, service too. The local shop, whilst small , was very well stocked with good variety of stock.Cottage was comfortable and very clean, and we would certainly recommend it, and hope to go back again sometime.”

“The cottage is situated immediately on the shoreline with wide unobstructed views out to sea and a private deck area to take it all in. We visited in January to walk the coastal path. Its all on one level, warm, spacious throughout, well maintained, clean, fresh, comfortable, modern and very well equipped (including a large screen TV). There is off street parking for one car.Jennifer, the owner, is a star. She provided easily the best self catering experience and support we have ever had, before, during and after our visit. Johnshaven is a village community so a little travel is required for anything more but Montrose has everything just a few miles away and has a train station for visits to Dundee and Aberdeen. The village store is good for day to day basics and the nearby Anchor Hotel is a great spot for excellent food (but booking ahead would be advisable). We don't normally return to the same place with so many other places still to explore but would have no hesitation to come back to "Seashore" one day.”

“Well, 4 times we have stayed in this beautiful house and it still never fails to impress. You know what people say about kitchens and parties (a hundred people could party in this one). As usual for us we dined at the Anchor, fish fish and more fish, all superb and great service. If you are looking for good bread then the Phoenix Bakery at Inverbervie is the place to go (also has a small cafe), but go early! Again we used the Fish Shop at Gourdon for most of our dinnerslangoustines fresh off their boatas they have a great selection for such a small shop.Nothing beats watching sunrise and sunset from the warmth of the lounge and when its calm you can usually spot dolphins splashing about. There is a small carpark at St Cyrus with great views over the sea and a path down to the beach, other beach walks at Montrose and Stonehaven and more that we have'nt discovered (yet)One last thing, book early!”

“Well what a fabulous, wonderful cottage and owner. The owner has thought of every customer need possible, from cling film to clothes washing power to dish washer tablets to a table cloth. One senses that the owner really wants guests to enjoy her lovely cottage and its not just about the money. The sea view is amazing, you can admire from bed or from the living room, a wonderful living view. The owner is lovely, she will always respond to a phone call or a message and is really helpful. We were very surprised with the size of the cottage, as very big and I don't think this big size is illustrated on the internet, so certainly not small; especially the kitchen and dining area as huge. You will have a super stay in this delightful cottage, my husband and I were sad to leave. Thank you for a wonderful time Jennifer”
