Guest Comments

"Seaside Retreat is right on the seafront - the view is spectacular and the scene ever changing. The summer house in the lower aspect of the garden captures the evening sun - an excellent way to wind down after a day of being on the beach or sightseeing. The cottage is well equipped and spacious and being at the end of the village there is little traffic and is gloriously peaceful. The hosts provide comprehensive information prior to arrival and follow up is excellent.A perfect location from which one can explore the eastern coast and its treasures as well as being quite near to access of the Angus glens.Good food at hotel in the village and excellent seafood can be purchased in the village or at nearby Gourdon.Cannot recommend highly enough."

"We have just returned from two weeks holiday in this beautiful cottage , it had everything you could possibly need , was spotlessly clean and so comfortable. The views were amazing .We are so missing our early morning cuppas on the decking overlooking the sea ,we saw dolphins, seals ,herons, cormorants and also a pair of oyster catchers guarding their nest on the beach just below the cottage ,we had lovely weather too , A fabulous cottage we definitely want to come back to."

"Best place we have stayed in Scotland"

"
My wife is disabled, so on some days she wasn't up to going out. However, this didn't matter as it was so lovely to sit out on the patio with a drink, looking at the sea. Being a bungalow, everything is obviously on one level, which was another plus for her. The property was extremely clean ( thinking about covid!) and well appointed, and the bed and settee etc very comfortable. We would definitely consider returning!

"
A lovely cottage for peace and relaxing.Sat outside the summer house looking out to sea watching the fishing boats and listening to the birds. The owner made sure my oxygen had arrived and got in touch during the week to see everything was fine.An excellent 10. Stars"

Michele, November 2020

"We have just enjoyed an amazing holiday at Seashore retreat. I can honestly say it is the best cottage we have ever stayed in. The sea is right outside the garden but the pictures cannot do the view justice.....it was amazing to hear the waves crashing and watch the sun rises and sunsets. The cottage itself has everthing you could possibly need to make one's stay comfortable and enjoyable. The cottage was spotless and the owner took great care to make sure we had everything we needed. All the little touches and thoughtfulness put in by the owner has made us vow to return. The little village is quaint with a lovely pub with great food, a shop, a beautiful cake cafe and a little art gallery. Even a play park for our two young girls. The area around the village has lots to do.....we would recommend a trip to Dunnottar Castle and Stonehaven. The only problem we had was the fact that we didn't own the cottage ourselves......we would highly recommend a stay at Seashore Retreat."

"The cottage is large and comfortable. We enjoyed hearing the sea and watching the cormorants, heron and other birds on the rocks outside the patio. The village has all that we needed and plenty of other places to explore"

"
Our accommodation at Seashore Retreat was spacious, well-equipped and comfortable. The cottage had the best situation possible adjacent to the sea shore and was within easy distance to the local hotel, shop, tearoom and gallery. The local residents were all pleasant and welcoming. The cottage owner was extremely kind and helpful to us throughout the whole booking process and we are grateful to her."
