Reviews

“We loved staying at Coastguard Cottage and will definitely consider it again for a stay. the view really had the "wow" factor as soon as you walk in. It is well appointed and decorated with everything you need. The view of the bay is stunning and it's fun watching the trains too (not noisy). Must do; the train to Paignton and pick up the Steam Train to Kingswear. Due to our age (6869) we found the steps and the walk into town a bit of a test but actually felt a bit fitter by the end. Don't be put off.B & S. Shrewsbury”

“Had a fabulous week at this lovely cottage, couldnt ask for a better view and location. Clean, close to all Dawlish had to offer, no need to use car, used the train to get wherever we wanted to go. Cheaper than paying car parking. Cottage was well equipped, a few things missing but we got round them (eg cheese grater) If you have a problem with mobility the location may cause issues as steps have to be navigated and parking is up a hill not close to front door. Relaxing and would highly recommend a visit.”

“Booked for the views, trains etc, didn't disappoint. Well equipped, nice extras I didn't expect, like an espresso coffee maker,DVD delivered half way through week which was a great back up for cosy nights in. Perfect for two of us, yes the dropping off of luggage etc is awkward but so worth it.we parked up and didn't use the car again for whole week, used the train to visit nearby places then walked back & vice versa. Morning strolls to Dawlish Warren & back, sea wall accessed 1min over bridge outside cottages. Being lucky with weather we were able to enjoy the terrace most days, would love to go back.”

“We had a wonderful holiday, fabulous views, and the shops and cafes only minutes away!! Perfect!!”

“Beautiful and spotlessly clean cottage with an amazing view. We enjoyed our three nights here very much although we didnt venture out too much at night as getting back and forth from the cottage after dark is not for the faint of heart. We would have benefitted from a smart tv to watch Netflix etc. Communication with the property manager and owner was easy and they were extremely helpful. Would definitely recommend and return.”

“If you want an amazing sea view, this is the place. I booked it cause of the sea view and it did not disappoint. You can hear the ocean and take in the views from the sofa. With a slope and steps (up and down) to the cottage, you need to be happy with that, but it is still worth it! Ill be booking again!”

“The cottage has a superb view and is finished to a high standard. We thought the facilities were excellent and our only slight concern would be for less mobile visitors as there are a god number of steps for access and egress plus no reserved parking. That said the superb view and the standard of the accommodation more than make up for this.”

“Our second stay here, and it is every bit as perfect as the first time! The view is amazing and the cottage is immaculate, cant wait to return in 2022”

“Booked the cottage last year but was cancelled due to Covid. Booked again for this year and defiantly worth the wait. Beautiful cottage, with everything you need. Stunning views overlooking the sea view. Work still going on to repair the train line outside the cottage but small price to pay for this beautiful location. Only disappointment was outside garden furniture is corroded and had an accident when the leg snapped and ended up facing the stars will defiantly go again and just looking to book for Nov 2022. There is a lot of steps down to the cottage, but once we unloaded the car, and found a parking space, we tended to use the train to travel up and down the coast. Beautiful location”

“Lovely cottage amazing views. Thoughtfully developed for holidays.”
— Jo, 27 September 2021
“This cottage is part of a lovely community of neighbours hidden away from the main road. Access path is steep so you need to be reasonably mobile to access it. No 3 is a charming little cottage with resident seagulls occasionally shouting down the chimney pots and regularly visiting the wall on the terrace looking for food. The cottage is spotless and provides comfortable accommodation with a nautical theme. It is very peaceful with only the sound of waves lapping on the shore at night and regular lowlevel noise from the trains below during daytime.”
