The open plan living, kitchen and dining space on the ground floor offers access out onto the private balcony, and what a spot to while away sunny afternoons and enjoy the views out to sea.

When you step back inside after a lazy hour or two sipping a drink on the balcony, you’ll be able to unwind on the leather sofas and enjoy the flatscreen TV with the rest of your group. The shared lawned garden outside means there’s plenty of opportunity for the kids to let off steam during a family break, and if you bring your dog along they’ll be able to stretch their legs outside in between those days out as a family.

When it’s time for bed, the master bedroom’s home to a kingsize bed, and the views out to sea mean you’ll be able to wake up to the sight of the waves dancing in the distance. There’s an en-suite shower room too, so you won’t have to worry about queuing when you’re getting ready for those days on the beach.

Perched on the River Teign, Teignmouth’s a laidback town where life centres around the seafront. If you’re a walker, you’ll find the South West Coastal Path nearby, and the town’s seafront back onto one of the UK’s most picturesque railway routes – the Riviera Line. You’ll find a collection of beachside restaurants keen to showcase the catch of the day, as well as a long sandy beach that’s perfect for those sunny days.

Please be aware that the entrance to the driveway is shared and vehicles should be parked in front of the house or the garage

“Large dog friendly house with beautiful views out to sea , huge balcony for doing just that . Modern facilities and a well equipped kitchen . Great base for getting out and about and exploring Devon . We loved Broadsands Beach , a lovely dog friendly cove with an amazing cafe on the sea front serving lovely fresh fish dishes and great coffee. Parking a little tricky at the property but we managed ok . Also we had a couple in the holiday flat below us , which is only separated by a locked internal door via the staircase inside our house , a more secure soundproof door might be better as we could hear them talking and smell cooking smells , dog barking etc. And Im sure they could probably hear us too . Shared garden accessed by quite step steps at the side of the property, we ended up not using the garden with our dog as we felt intruding when the other couple were sitting out in the garden flat . Overall we still had an amazing time and would definitely come back again .”

“Orestone View is a very lovely modern house, with spectacular views. The house itself brought gasps of joy when we arrived, and again that view...amazing.The location was perfectly acceptable, about a 30 min walk through a nature reserve to the beach and 5 mins further to the town, coming back is a steep climb but provides. a great workout. Fun in 30C temps! The facilities in the town are fine but are all a drive away (Lidl, Tesco Express and Morrisons). There were a few kitchen essentials that were missing (scourers, kitchen towel, etc), but all the kit worked and there was plenty of crockery, glassware, and cutlery. TV had more than enough stuff to watch, but in all honesty, with such good weather, we didn't really use it.Two minor issues, the doors are all squeaky and could do with a bit of oil, and the beds were not as comfy as we'd have liked, but it didn't spoil the holiday in any way.Sue was a fantastic host, from a Devon cream tea on arrival, and the nod to her Sea Sports business that we utilized, it was nice to have her support and advice.Teignmouth itself was a surprise, better than we expected to be honest. A couple of tips, service generally was slow everywhere, We ate at The Colluseaum Italian good if a little quirky on service, The View, good view poor service again. Nourish was a lovely lunch spot for the vegans among us. The best coffee was at Ode in Shaldon, only coffee approaching the standards we expect, and their pizzas were amazing. Shaldon is lovely.Due to good weather, we didn't venture beyond the town, the beach by the railway (turn left at bottom of the hill) was always clean, not crowded and dog friendly(the whole town was dog friendly, loads of places with water and happy to see dogs.Overall a lovely holiday in a lovely house in a great spot with helpful hosts. We may be back without the kids to use the flat downstairs.”
