Reviews

“Lovely cottage in Central Seahouses. Perfect base for visiting the area.”
— Mr D, 14 May 2024
“This was our first experience of a rented cottage and whilst our expectations about the cottage may have been a little higher than a holiday camp cabin we still enjoyed our stay. The bedroom is a little cramped making dressing and undressing difficult at the sides of the bed. There are birds nesting above the door and it was necessary to wipe the door handle outside before using it, but you cannot stop nature doing its thing. The area was quiet and peaceful and no noise from neighbours. We had misinterpreted the description of the location of the property as being directly on the harbour side and therefore expected harbour views, but this was our fault for making some assumptions. There had been a problem wwith the electrics blowing the main fuse when we first got there but this was quickly attended to by the owners after a phone call. This had been an unfortunate result of the wet weather affecting the door entry light outside. No ones fault just the weather.”

“We stayed for a week but wished we could have stayed forever! Everything at the cottage was great, just as stated together with a lovely welcome pack. The location was perfect with a fabulous harbour view just around the corner. And to top it off we made a new best friend Alexia, who had exactly the same taste in music as us! We can't wait to visit again next year (or sooner) and would highly recommend. Thanks for a lovely holiday :)”

“The property is smaller than the pictures suggest but is well equipped and clean. The shower is particularly good. The folddown table is just big enough for two to eat at. The mattress and duvet combination is very warm for summer use. Tha hob is an induction type which confused us to begin with. A larger kitchen bin would help. The courtyard is small particularly with several cars in it. It is a safe area for children which may be useful. A few picnic tables are provided. The harbour is literally 50 paces away.”

“Overall very pleased with the cottage just a couple of things like the tv,we couldnt access Netflix or Amazon prime, and the bedroom could have had a bit more space .but we would gladly book it again”

“Thoroughly enjoyable stay, but good communication fromwith the housekeeper manager was impressive and well received.”

“We had a lovely motorcycling holiday based in the cottage. It was bigger than I was expecting, plenty of room for us and all our gear. The weather was good, and we found plenty to explore up and down the coast and into the hills. We even made it up into Scotland. We enjoyed Seahouses, lovely beach walks and an interesting working harbour. We couldnt fault the cottage or the service and wouldnt hesitate to recommend. ”

“Very deceiving, like a tardis. Everything youd need was in there.”
— Mrs M, 11 March 2020
“The property was very well situated close to the harbour and town. The entrance to the courtyard was rather tight but once you were in the parking was adequate. The property is small but perfectly adequate for 2 people and a dog. we loved Northumbria and would happily return and use your website again.”
