About the area: Set at the very tip of the Strathaird Peninsula on the beautiful Isle of Skye, the rural crafting community of Elgol lies at the end of a single track road which runs from the village of Broadford. Quiet, peaceful and amid stunning scenery, Elgol makes a wonderful base for those seeking to get away from it all and rediscover nature. Experienced hill walkers and climbers have a choice of mountain trails to explore, while a picnic by the side of the Loch Coruisk is an ideal afternoon treat. Fishing boats operate from Elgol's small quay, and can transport visitors across the water and past the seal colony. For amenities including pubs, restaurants, shops and a petrol station, Broadford is just 15 miles from Elgol.
