"Lovely big house and well equipped and plenty of room for six people. We had a very pleasant stay.Unfortunately due to the covid situation the house was not cleaned as well as we would have expected it to be and smelled as though someone had been smoking inside. Just a small issue but we are all non smokers."

"Super house. Really comfortable and spacious. A 10 minute walk brings you to Amble town for fish and chips, crabbing on the pier and a super Sunday market. House perhaps needed a bit more ovenware, like trays or ovenproof dishes... but everything else was fantastic."

"Hawthorne House is the perfect holiday home in a quiet cul-de-sac setting. Spacious and clean - everything you could need. The welcome pack is a nice little touch. Beds very comfy and lovely bedding. The master bedroom was like a hotel room. We travelled as one family but could easily accommodate more than one family or 4 couples. Amble has everything you need and easily accessed on foot from the house - 10 minute walk. The walk to Warkworth is recommended. The only small issue I can think of was the lawn was a little overgrown but gardeners did come on Saturday to cut the grass. Would highly recommend"

"This is a great property which backs onto open fields and has lovely views from two bedrooms over to Warkworth - enjoyed some really stunning sunsets from the back garden. Generally very well equipped but a BBQ would have been nice. The fridge in the kitchen is very small but there is a further large fridge in the garage which was great for storing drinks and any other items not needed immediately."

"We really enjoyed our stay at Hawthorne house. The house was clean and spacious. Understandably, due to Covid some soft furnishings had been taken away but it didn’t spoil our stay. There were a few tiny things that we spotted that made the house look a little ‘worn’ ( cracked lampshade, stain on dining room carpet) but certainly didn’t effect our experience! The area was lovely and quiet, beautiful garden with outstanding views of Warkworth Castle. Local shops and restaurants not far away- fab meals out in Amble at The Old Boathouse.Would defo recommend and would happily stay here again. Thank you!"

"Excellent house, large, light comfortable. It had lovely views out the back windows towards Warkworth Castle (in April- not sure when tree all out) and glimpses of the sea. It was set in a very quiet position in the housing estate so felt very peaceful. A couple of small points: the underfloor heating in the conservatory and ensuite had been disconnected and there was no longer a jacuzzi bath. There are two large tables but neither actually have 8 chairs around and could be a bit squashed if you did. The kitchen was well equipped for large pans and dishes but was lacking on smaller Pyrex bowls and wooden spoons etc. We really enjoyed the relaxed feel the house gave us and had a good week of R and R."

"We booked the house last minute. It was the perfect break we needed. We could walk into town easily along the footpath at the back of the house. Great to reach the sea within minutes. Amble had everything we needed and the weather was great. Hawthorne house gave enough space for us all to spread out indoors and out. The garden room was a big success when it got cooler late afternoon. It would have been helpful to have a few leaflets on the surrounding area but this didn’t spoil our stay. We would definitely recommend this clean, modern, spacious house."

"We stayed with friends to celebrate my wife’s birthday, the house is great with everything you need and you are only a ten minute walk to town and the harbour.Would highly recommend."
