Under new ownership from September 2021, this contemporary, lower ground floor apartment is situated just 5 minutes away from the beach and centre of Whitby. The property is ideally placed for exploring the cobbled back street shops, indoor market, abbey, church and 3-mile stretch of golden sand which is less than 5 minutes away. Whitby is a bustling fishing town that is home to many amazing events throughout the year, including the bi-annual Goth Weekender, Folk Week and the Whitby Regatta, to name just three of the all year round events. Alongside this, Whitby attracts visitors from all over who love to sample the many bars, restaurants, cafés and tea rooms, as well as museums and galleries.

This is also the perfect place to make as your base for exploring the North York Moors National Park and the Yorkshire Heritage Coast. Travel by steam train into the heart of ‘Heartbeat’ country or take a fishing trip out to sea on one of the many boat trips that leave the harbour with the hope of seeing whales, seals or dolphins. The Cleveland Way snakes along the coast and is a must for those who enjoy the great outdoors. Robin Hood’s Bay and Runswick Bay are just some of the highlights along the coast, whilst the medieval walled city of York is just an hours’ drive or train ride away. The traditional seaside town of Scarborough is just down the coast with its North and South Bays, plus the open-air theatre which hosts many summertime concerts with international stars. There are scratchcards for street parking and public car parks which are chargeable, the free parking at the rear is in addition, there are 2 spaces shared between 4 apartments available on a first come first served basis.

“The new owners have done amazing job to make it feel clean, welcoming and comfy Its well equipped , also the bed is comfy , and the towels are lovely and soft. we had a fantastic break and it wasPerfect Only thing it needs , and this is not a negative , as they are new owners and may not have done it yet. Could benefit from an info pack , for example: local amenities, vetsdoctors etc and possibly instructions for appliances and heating ( so it could be turned down) And a visitor book would be a nice touch also Overall it was lovely staying there , and we will definitely book again but i think these additional things would make it an even better holiday experience”

“We really enjoyed our stay at the White Whale. All the essentials and more. The flat is well presented and clean and perfectly situated close to all that Whitby has to offer. We were fortunate in having access to the limited private parking at the rear, which isn't guaranteed due to limited space in a built up area, scratchcard parking permits were left in the flat, so parking in the street would be no problem in the 'W' zone. Highly recommended...We'll be back!”

“We had a great week at white whale the apartment had everything we needed and more the bed was very comfy the kitchen very well equipped shower and bath fantastic and the conservatory was a wonderful added bonus no problem parking within easy access to bars pubs and shops just a note we managed to walk down easily but getting back up was a bit of an effort but for £5 a taxi from the coop in town made our lives easier !! Thank you to the owner so happy and we will be back !!!!”
