Millers Cottage is an 18th-century, stone-built, Lakeland detached house with a lot of character and a host of original features, such as slate flagged floors, oak beams and traditional doors. The cottage is very welcoming, warm and cosy, with a charming atmosphere. This holiday cottage makes the perfect ’home from home’ and a great place from which to explore this side of the South Lakes. It nestles at the end of a private very narrow lane on the edge of the old village, surrounded by woodland. On the doorstep is the Duddon Valley to the west of Coniston, arguably one of the ’undiscovered hidden gems’ of the Lake District National Park. There are great family walks from the door in many directions including those taking in the wonderful fells, waterfalls, crags and streams. Just a short 8 mile drive is Coniston, with Hawkshead, Ambleside, Grasmere, Windermere, Bowness, Tarn Hows and the Grizedale Forest. Beach 10 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant ½ mile.
