“A lovely quiet place with amazing views. Lovely and warm and homely. Best part is conservatory where we spent a lot of time when not out. Wi fi boosters would be helpful. Signal only in living room. Generally clean but a good dusting to get rid of cobweb and dusty corners wouldnt take up a lot of time. Plenty of crockery and utensils. One of the switches tripped off on first day and small step ladder would have been useful to reach fuse box. A small clothes basket and airer would be useful too as nothing to carry washing from washer. We stayed 2wks. These are just little niggles and would not stop us staying again at Balamar. We loved the place”

“Lovely cottage perfect location but overall cleanliness is not how it used to be , which with the Covid epidemic it should be absolutely spotless, dirt around the top of the sink in the kitchen, black under the shower screen and below tiles in the main bathroom, apart from this it is a lovely cottage x”

“What a wonderful cottage and location. Very spacious, both inside and out, well equipped kitchen and stunning views. Very quiet, secluded area. Lovely short walk down to the almost deserted beach. Only downside for us was the directions to the cottage take you to the beach and then up the road to the cottage and this road is currently closed so we had to turn road and find another way, which wasn't ideal after a long drive but was quickly forgotten once we arrive at the cottage.”

“Beautiful and spacious bungalow, very comfortable. In kitchen everything you need and more. Big garden, very private property. Only one positive criticism matters in bedroom with ensuite a bit waney but still very comfortable. Very close to the beach witch isn't very occupied. Amazing views from bungalow all day round.”

“Balamar was perfect for our summer holiday. The house is just what we wanted, it has everything we needed and a fabulous view of the sea, a Roman fort and Scotland beyond. We found the bedrooms comfortable and the bathrooms and showers are really good. We loved sitting in the warm and cosy conservatory and in the two armchairs by the front door to watch the sky and view change. It was wonderful to wake up each morning to glorious views as we drew the curtains. It is ideally situated for trips to the beach and adventures in the Lake District.”
