“As a family group of 10 (4 young children) with two dogs this was a great place to stay. Equipped with everything we needed. Looks a little tired in places but that was not a bad thing. It iis rather out of the way so planning needed for shopping and all local roads are very tight. Lots to do and places to see. Host Alison vis very nice and concerned to have It right for you.”

“A well resourced property that suited the whole family. Ensuites in every bedroom, lovely garden (please note it is shared with the property next door) and in the middle of gorgeous countryside. There were 10 of us and we could easily all seat at the dining table and there were plenty of crockery and cutlery a real bug bear in other properties.”

“Stayed for Christmas with family and had the best time at Spekes retreat! It's out in the sticks with not alot around but I loved that about it. There are some lovely local walks, Bideford and Bude are around 30 mins drive away. There are so many beautiful places to visit within driving distance. The cottage itself is lovely and cosy. It's not perfect but this just adds to the character and with kids and dogs in tow meant we could relax in the house. Underfloor heating throughout kept us comfy during our visit. The owners are fab, came to visit to make sure we settled in and brought us some fresh milk and cakesWould definitely recommend. Loved it.”

“The property was amazing, so much space for eleven of us and well equipped. Location was very rural and out of the way though. Would book again.”

“Ideal 5 ensuite bedroom property for a family or group stay. Well equipped and comfortable. The friendly owners live nearby and on hand to answer any queries when contacted. We knew when we booked that the property was located in a remote location, so we did not see this as a drawback. Nearest village (Hartland) 10 minutes or so drive along narrow lanes has pubs and good general store. Great location for walkers. Coastal resorts and beaches a short drive away. Despite remote location no problem for Supermarket on line deliveries.”
