There is a nature reserve on your doorstep, and being near the beach provides many opportunities for water activities; why not call into Weymouth harbour and book some boat fishing or trips? Its a pleasant 20-minute walk, 1 mile, to Weymouth centre, along the seafront path, or there is a regular bus service into town. Visit the nearby Bowleaze Leisure Centre, Weymouth Sea Life, or call in to Dorchester, the county town of Dorset, with its many museums, shops and restaurants.
You can spend days exploring Wareham, Swanage, and the Purbeck Hills, to visit exciting attractions such as the Bovington Tank Museum, Monkey World, The Swanage Steam Railway, Corfe Castle and much more. Explore Lyme Regis, West Bay and Abbotsbury taking in the Subtropical Gardens, the Swannery, Chesil Beach and the National Trust’s Hardy Monument. There is something for everyone to enjoy in this lovely area of Dorset, and on your return, call in and have some delicious fish and chips whilst soaking up the seaside atmosphere. Beach ¼ mile.
