. Nestled peacefully down a quiet lane in the small village of Llangennech, this pet-friendly, traditional, detached former barn has been restored to a very good standard, with a private patio and garden with a gas BBQ and hot tub, making it a perfect touring base for a family or couple looking to explore west Wales. ‘Glanmwrg Fawr’ has retained much of its original charm, character and lots of welcoming touches have been added, such as wi-fi and a large digital TV with DVD player. Adjoining the owner’s home, and tastefully decorated throughout with spacious living areas. Facilities for the disabled are available, the access is wheelchair friendly and on the ground floor there is a walk-in bath with a removable hydraulic bath seat, and a bedroom has adjustable beds. The holiday home boasts a large games room with all the facilities to entertain the family during inclement weather.

The glistening Loughor Estuary is on the doorstep and provides a haven for waders and geese at the National Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust Centre, 3 miles. The picturesque Millennium Coastal Path (and 12 mile bike track) to Pembrey Country Park leads you along the idyllic shores, with spectacular views of the Gower Peninsula (AONB). For a family outing, visit the scenic Pembrey Country Park, 8 miles, and discover its 7 miles of sandy beaches set within the forest, featuring a dry ski slope, horse riding trails and model steam engines. For the sports enthusiasts, visitors can enjoy a round of golf at the Jack Nicklaus course or watch live sport at the Llanelli Scarlet’s Rugby Stadium and nearby Ffos Las racecourse. Away from the coast, Carmarthenshire countryside is just as promising with its array of charming market towns such as Llandelio and Carmarthen, as well the many enchanted medieval sites dotted around the county, including Kidwelly and Dinefwr 12th century castle and Heritage park. “Lovely big barn conversion. Amazing a few small glitches. Divd player did not work. But hosts friendly. Even let us use their charging point. Safe front garden and hot tub top of the range. We enjoyed our stay”

“Lovely peaceful home from home loved it and we shall be back next year. I can't fault the cottage it was beautiful and the hot tub was a bonus, plenty of room for the dog and we had tea bags coffee milk and sugar and a little hamper which was a nice touch. Very homely and clean.”

“Loved this place, lots of space. Great base to go to different places. Great shopping and lovely beaches only a 10 min car ride way. The garden is very dog safe and the hot tub was a great treat. Marian and Chris were on hand if needed and were very helpful in recommending local places. Would love to visit again”

“Our family holiday at the Glanmwrg Barn was superb. We especially enjoyed the games room and hottub. The owners were very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. The enclosed garden was great for the family (including the dog). And the location acted as a good base from which to explore the Gower and the rest of south Wales. Highly recommend the Glanmwrg Barn!”

“A really lovely converted barn, plenty of space and very reasonably priced. Its not in a particularly scenic spot but is an excellent base, really close to the M4 and Llanelli so great for visiting the Gower beaches and Carmarthen coast . Lovely hot tub, good sized garden, plenty to do and a good games room. If you want to be close to beautiful beaches without paying resort level prices, come to this place!”
