“Friendly and helpful hosts. They had left an informative file filled with recommended hikes, places to eat. Nice touch with the fresh bread, wine and milk. Clean and homely cottage with all the essentials. Ideal location in the heart of the town with a pub, takeaway and supermarket all in walking distance. Would recommend!”

“Absolutely lovely stay at pine marten cottage. The accommodation was spotlessly clean and everything you needed a real home from home. The hosts were great and very knowledgeable with where we could visit. Stunning location and beautiful walks all around the village and a bit further out. First time in the Highlands and we found it beautiful. Would definitely recommend this place to stay couldnt fault it at all.”

Dale was excellent at giving us tips and suggestions for our walks and trips out. Even got up as far as Skye for a long day trip. Had a lovely meal at The Laroch Restaurant in the village. “My brotherinlaw and I came to the cottage in October for a fishing holiday. We found Pine Marten cottage to be very comfortable and ideal for us. The owners were very helpful and friendly but not in the least bit obtrusive. We caught plenty of fish and had a great time. Perfect location for walking as well. I love this area and will definitely return.”

“Absolutely loved our stay at Pine Marten cottage. The owners provided the best welcome pack weve ever had on arrival, even a bottle of wine! The location is great, lots of walks nearby and Dale can give you advice about where to go. Theres a decent Coop in the village with a post office, an information centrecafe, a couple of restaurants and a fish and chip shop. Glencoe village is within walking distance with a great cafe and the Glencoe Gathering does very good food. We also walked to the NTS visitor centre in Glencoe (just under 3 miles each way), but to venture much further into Glencoe you need wheels as I wouldnt recommend walking beyond the visitor centre alongside the A82. The cottage had everything we could have needed. A very well supplied kitchen, including a freezer (very handy for stocking up on goodies from Marks & Spencer in Fort William). Lots of storage in the bedrooms, and as there was only two of us we had a wardrobe and six big drawers each! I always look for a property with a superking size bed, and this one was so comfortable, got to be one of the best weve had in a holiday home. Lovely bathroom, and an additional downstairs loo was a bonus. And the heating superb! Lovely and cosy and warm to come back to, especially on a rainy day. Luckily we only had two of those. Weve stayed in several properties around Fort William, Glen Nevis and Glencoe, this was our first time in Ballachulish and we will be back next year for sure. P.s Excellent WiFi, thankfully as no phone signal from my provider inside the cottage.”
