One half of the property is taken up with an enormous conservatory, stylishly designed and furnished to complement the garden surroundings, while the other half houses a high-quality kitchen, shower room and double bedroom.

All guests have access to the owners’ large enclosed walled garden, hard tennis court and small putting green. The idyllic peaceful surroundings are complemented by a structured walled garden and other features, including a rose garden intersected by pathways to meander through and stop to enjoy the scents of summer.

“Our second visit to Old Montrose a fabulous select of unique cottages, last time we stayed at the Gasworks (sleeps 6) which was excellent. This time we choose Grieve Cottage (sleeps 2) and was not disappointed. This wonderful cosy high spec cottage had plenty of room and spotless with wonderful gardens. If you like luxury, a place to relaxing, with a cosy feel, with gardens this is for you. This Gem will not disappoint and will be booking again for next year.”

“The reviews we read before booking were absolutely true. The cottage was fantastic and very roomy for two Very nice decor. Nice welcome pack. Very helpful and friendly owners and Merlin the dog. But for us what really sold it was the fabulous dog friendly garden. A joy to walk the dog We didnt even get to use the tennis court or putting green on this occasion but will do next time. Nearby beaches brilliant , lovely meal at the creek inn Catterline , nice woodland walks at the House of Dun and a very worthwhile visit to the visiter center at the Montrose basin. Would love to visit in another season though Christmas and new year must be special too. Thanks so much for a great break”

“I'd rather not say how much we enjoyed our holiday at this delightful, well equipped cottage in a wonderful location, quiet and restful in lovely Scotland, because we'd like very much to stay another time and the less people know the better!”

“The cottage was fantastic and a great base for us to explore the local area, walking in the hills and on the beaches. The gardens are huge and our Labrador, Angus, thoroughly enjoyed himself, running around and we were able to relax, knowing he was safe and happy. We will be back!”

“One of the nicest cottages I've ever stayed in. Clean, quiet location with beautiful gardens and just 10mins drive to Montrose for shops. Attention to detail was first class and I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking to explore Angus or if they just want a quiet get away holiday.”
— Mike, 28 June 2021
“This beautifully restored cottage, set within the grounds of the owners home has everything we needed for the perfect break. The back door opens out into magnificent gardens which we were encouraged to explore, even to the extent of helping ourselves to rhubarb from the kitchen garden. The house is beautifully furnished and well equipped and the little extras in the welcome pack were much appreciated. A 10 minute walk takes you to Montrose Basin, a 10 minute drive to Montroses lovely beach or an hour in the other direction into the Angus Glens. This is a little gem we wont forget in a hurry and will definitely visit again.”
