"We really enjoyed our time at Gullieside. It provided us with a great base to go and explore the local area and partake in some really fun activities with the children eg Alpaca Trekking, Ice Cream making, Kayaking, Body-boarding at Brighhouse Bay etcThe cottage is lovely and the garden's are great. The living area to the cottage is quite small, well it was for us, with two adults, two children and two Labradors and the wet weather also meant we had nowhere really to dry clothes, but the cottage cannot be blamed for the rain. It is well looked after and had all the things we needed. The only other downside is getting the car on and off the driveway. It is incredibly tight and you cannot park on the road as there is no room for other cars to pass. So if you have a large car or you struggle with reversing, you may need to consider this. The beach is 150 yards away but it is more of cove (not a sandy beach) which was fine to walk the dogs on in a morning. There are other sandy beaches a mere 5-10 mins away by car. The restaurants in Kirkcudbright were great and there was plenty of choice.Overall, we enjoyed our stay.Thank you"

"We had a very restful holiday. The gardens were beautiful and escape proof. Especially when you have two Jack Russell’s! It’s an ideal place to tour so many interesting places not forgetting the many and varied beaches that are local. We will be returning!!"

"Gullieside cottage is gorgeous. We went looking for relaxation, rural peacefulness and charm and it didn’t disappoint. The cottage was equipped with everything we needed..( we did bring our nespresso coffee machine...we can’t live without it)... but everything else was there.Marketed as having no WiFi, the owners had left details of their O2 sign in which we signed into and we were able to keep in touch with our daughter back home...no need to use our data 4g and the smart TV was perfectly able to provide a Netflix film/ BBC iPlayer etc in the evening....not that we needed that. The weather was great so evenings spent BBQing and enjoying the fabulous garden...all enclosed, perfect for our ageing Basset hound.Local amenities only a 15 min drive to Kircudbright....a wonderful town with all you would need and if you are creative, galleries and workshops galore.Lovely days out over to Whithorn , Threve gardens and Wigtown... a book lovers haven with many 2nd hand book shops. It’s famous for it so if you’re a reader ...go!And lastly.... Kirk Andrew and surrounding beaches are fabulous. Brig house, Ross bay are well worth the visit...with alpaca farm trekking down there too.The entrance to the parking area is a bit tight but nothing that a wee bit of careful reversing can’t solve...we got a Volvo XC60 and a Skoda Octavia in there with no issues.Gullieside cottage was cozy and quaint and just what we wanted. Can’t wait to go back there again."

"We had a fabulous holiday. We wanted to be in the middle of nowhere so it’s unfair to ask about amenities. There aren’t any! We didn’t want any! Fabulous garden and wonderful views."

"We found Gullieside cottage to be absolutely ideal for our requirements for a quiet break in apleasant location. We enjoyed it immensely. Our only slight criticism is regarding local facilities (just far enough away to be difficult, and nopub within walking distance, not that we would wish to patronise one at this time. However, the living room would be rather small for a party of four adults. There is a further difficulty (not really a criticism as it is just inescapable);-Vehicle Access is very restricted. Many modern cars would be too wide to reach the parking areaHowever, we are advised that, if necessary, a vehicle could be parked along the lane only about50 yards way.We particularly liked the detached quiet aspect with a very pleasant garden and outside seating. The hamlet of Kirkandrews is of great interest, worth a visit in itself, and some very pleasant neighbours. We would most certainly like to visit Gullieside cottage again, but in better times when we canfully experience the many attractions and amenities of the area."

"Spent a very relaxing week in this special cottage, walking, cycling reading and sitting in the beautiful garden. Very close to beach it is located in the attractive hamlet of Kirkandrews.Gullieside has a large garden with views of the countryside and a costal walks. Inside it is warm and comfortable with an open fire. The cottage was spotlessly clean. It is 20 minutes drive from the town of Kirkcudbright where there are a range of good shops and restaurants."
