"Lovely quiet cottage, off the beaten track but still close enough to all local amenities. A very relaxing place to be - especially in the hot tub!"

"Lovely cottage, excellent location & hot tub. Very clean & well equipped. This is our second visit & I'm sure we will be back again!"

"Cracking week at Sheaf Dale, July 2021. Cottage is in a lovely location and was spotlessly clean. Hot tub just across path from front door in a nice wee private garden. The kids loved that and we were in 2/3 times a day. There's also a table/chairs and a whirly-gig for hanging out stuff to dry. We had great weather and went to the local beach a Portmahomack where the kids had a cracking day, although the water was freezing! Post Office/shop and a cafe handy at the village. Nice 2 hour round trip walk along to Tarbat Ness Lighthouse if you get the weather, where there are nice grounds and coast for a packed lunch and some fresh air. We also booked a dolphin boat trip from Inverness which the kids enjoyed. One suggestion from us would be to do away with the chairs in the living room and have another couple of sofas maybe. There WiFi signal isn't great in the 2 bedrooms farthest from the living room but I think the owners were looking to get that sorted. All in all we had a great week and I'd recommend Sheaf Dale for a nice family break. It's a lovely cottage in a lovely area and we would definitely return."

Elizabeth, July 2021

"Lovely cottage, beautifully presented in a stunning location, within easy walking distance of the village. Friendly welcome and helpful information given about local area. Only negatives - could do with a bit more equipment in the kitchen (cafetière, few more glasses). Be aware that the cottage doesn’t open onto the garden, you need to cross the path - if bringing dogs you still need to put them on lead to let them out. Also check the opening hours in the village as when we visited, understandably some businesses operating fewer hours due to covid."

"Great location. Really relaxing."

Carri, May 2021

"Only thing I could moan about was the chairs in the living room. Not very comfy and only 1 sofa and if that’s my only moan then that’s pretty good! Absolutely loved the rest of the cottage, the location and the owners. Having the hot tub was a definite bonus. The scenery is outstanding with lovely walks. The local people were fabulous, very hospitable and friendly. We will definitely be back!"

Alistair, November 2020

"Sheaf dale is a beautiful cottage. The cottage is in a peaceful location and extremely well maintained. It was perfect for us to explore the highlands. Our only feedback would be that as the cottage is for 6 and given the location people are likely to cook, the kitchen could do with more equipment."

Alexander, October 2020

"The cottage was sparkling clean, had everything we needed and was walking distance to the the port. We were greeted by our hosts warmly after we'd settled in and they gave us some tips on walk routes and things to do. Peaceful retreat!"
