“An extremely warm and friendly welcome from Garry which was lovely and really helpful. The cottage is very well equipped with everything you would want and need and was extremely clean and well kept. Garry provides a car park space within a short walk away. Location is good close to Westward Ho and a good base to tour the area. The outside area is cosy and lovely in the sunshine in the afternoon. We look forward to returning at some point.TIP: The Pier in Westward Ho restaurant has amazing food (ate there twice)!”

“Very warm welcome. Cottage was spotlessly clean. Comfy sofa and bed. All kitchen equipment was spotlessly clean.”

“A well presented and extremely comfortable base from which to explore North Devon. Full of charm and character as well as style. Made to feel welcome from arrival to departure.”

“This cottage provides a perfect retreat for two. The owner is very friendly, the cottage was spotlessly clean, and the decor is stylish. It was a pleasure to sit out in the sheltered courtyard in the evening, surrounded by flowering plants.”

“What a little gem the Shoebox is!Cosy, comfortable and Garry had thought of everything, from the fresh roses to the pint of milk in the fridge and chocolates on the side! It was a great base to explore North Devon and Garrys local knowledge and superb hospitality enabled us to have the perfect stay. We will be back!”

“The Shoe Box was perfect for our stay in Devon. Garry was very welcoming and had thought of everything we might need in the cottage. We had a lovely time exploring the local area, and The Shoe Box was ideally located for this, we could walk most places.”

“We had a wonderful stay at The Shoebox and would not hesitate to recommend the house. Garry was attentive and welcoming as a host and nothing was too much for him to help with. He has a great knowledge of the local area and is a real character. The local area is quiet but has everything you need, and it was the perfect base to explore the beautiful coastline and countryside. The house was spotlessly clean and was well equipped with everything we needed for our break. Garry has thought of everything and the little finishing touches like fresh flowers and fresh milk in the fridge shows his attention to detail. We hope to go back to The Shoebox just as soon as we can!”

“The Shoe Box, as the name suggests, is small but it is perfect! Garry was a great host waiting for us on our arrival, touching base after a couple of days to check all was well and then waving us goodbye. Tea bags and milk on hand, so we could have a drink as we unpacked, was a welcome gesture. Somehow he even managed to arrange the hottest days of the year so far to coincide with our stay! We would recommend The Shoe Box as a base for exploring this part of North Devon and would certainly come again to continue our exploring.”

“A brief stay in the area was made all the more welcome because of the stay in the Shoebox. Small but perfectly formed, the place was perfect for looking around the area, close to beaches and amenities. Garry was a great host and was attentive at both entry and exit from the property. Very clean, quiet and comfortable.”

“Perfect accommodation for our stay! Honestly would recommend to anyone planning to explore North Devon, perfectly located. Gary was an absolute treasure and an accommodating and friendly host, meeting us initially to get us setting in and even had a couple of bits in for us. Just big enough for the two of us with a well equipped kitchen, comfortable bed and great shower. Will definitely return and stay in the shoe box again!”

“Garry was a very welcoming and thoughtful host. The cottage and little bistro area were wonderful. The area was beautiful, but due to restrictions we did not use any of the local pubs etc.”
