A short stroll takes you into the town centre, which offers a great choice of places to eat and drink. The picturesque Italianate village of Portmeirion, designed by Sir Clough Williams Ellis, is well worth a visit, as is the glorious sandy beach at Black Rock Sands; perfect bucket and spade territory or if you fancy, a paddle in the sea. Meanwhile, Blaenau Ffestiniog is an adrenaline junkie’s delight with Zip World, the largest zip wire zone in the world, Bounce Below, where you can bounce on trampoline nets deep underground in an old slate cavern, or the Stiniog downhill mountain bike trails. “This is a lovely apartment for the grand view of the harbour and the steam trains. Very quite. This made it for us. Shops within easy walking distance that you need makes it a good choice. Good location. The boiler was not working when we arrived, the owner arranged for a plumber to fix the issue. During our stay the microwave stopped working, replaced quickly. The owner was good at responding and keen to resolve. It did not spoil our holiday. The wifi was excellent. Double bed was very comfortable.”

“Just spent a very relaxing week at Harbour View, a delightfully compact house. Lovely location overlooking Porthmadog harbour and the Blaenau Ffestiniog railway. The surrounding area is also well worth exploring.”

“Had a really lovely holiday here, the location right on the harbour was beautiful, the steam railway charming, very peaceful and relaxing, perfect for exploring the local area, best of all the steam rail journey to Caernarfon for the day takes you through the Snowdonia National Park.Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, a well needed break, thank you.”

“Had a wonderful week at Harbour View celebrating our Ruby wedding Anniversary. Great views of the harbour and Steam Railway from the balcony and is a sun trap in the morning and evening.”

“This is an ideal location for touring N.Wales, it overlooks the harbour and Ffestiniog railway, from the lounge window you can see the engines being fuelled .All the long trips on the railway were fully booked but managed a short trip to Beddgelert. We went to Llanberis and took the train up Snowdon but it only goes 34 the way up but all the same a great experience. Spent a day at Portmeirion which is just amazing, a lovely day at Bodnant gardens and Caernarfon. If you cross over the Cob a footpath brings you to a marshy area which is a haven for water birds, we went every evening and saw so many different birds. The owner was thoughtful enough to phone me beforehand to explain the shortage of cushions, cutlery, crockery etc but there were only 2 of us so there was adequate.”

“Fabulous position, with a picture window and a large balcony that overlooks the railway station platform and has views across the harbour and up in to the mountains. The apartment had all of the equipment we needed, though we did bring a fan to help us through the absolutely glorious weather. Everything had been cleaned to a good standard before we arrived, though we did rewash the crockery and cutlery given the Covid situation, but that was out of choice, not necessity. The town was really quite quiet in the evenings, again thanks to the pandemic, but we did find places to eat out and Porthmadog is a good base from which to visit places like Criccieth, Caernarfon, Llandudno, Barmouth and Beaumaris. Black Rock Sands is also great, especially in the the warm weather. Good place to wind down and relax!”

“Excellent really enjoyed harbour view Harbour and miniature great place for holiday and plenty to do and see Definitely recommend to friends definitely go back sometime. BUT the only thing that lets it down is the cleaning hand rails on stairs thick with dust TV table was very dusty lamp shade in lounge full of cobwebs and the big lounge window was bad as I'm a cleaner for many years don't know how they missed it all that's why low score if that can be sorted would have been a 10 but in all fabulous holiday. And a big thank you to bill owner for the phone call and wine”
