There are bracing and invigorating walks along the Speyside Way and beaches literally from the doorstep where the plaintive cry of the gulls make an evocative backdrop to the sound of the waves on the shore. Inland the Whisky Trail is a must with many well known distilleries offering tours and tasting. The scenery inland is equally as stunning with easy access to the Cairngorm National Park from the cottage. Closer is Elgin with its cathedral and cashmere outlet or take a trip to Gordon Castle Estate which is set in ancient woodland on the banks of the River Spey. Beach 50 yards. "Nice location right by the Moray Firth (River Spey Estuary), we liked the fact that it was not touristy. We arranged a Morrisons delivery for when we arrived and then just picked up bits and pieces whilst we were out & about. Nicola had arranged for a new BBQ to be there for us, which was great as we had some decent weather to have BBQ's in the evening. It would have been nice to have had some books on local walks in the cottage but I managed to get some from Amazon. The cottage was clean and comfortable, the kitchen was well equipped and the showers worked well but it would have been nice to have had larger bath towels. We really enjoyed our stay, spotting dolphins on day one and regularly spotted seals, we even ventured into the sea a few times for a swim and I would recommend Glen Moray for their whiskey tour."

"Great holiday cottage. Lovely quiet location near a pebble beach. Good sized rooms, comfy beds, well and thoughtfully equipped (lots of crockery and cutlery). Immaculately clean when we arrived plus a few supplies and treats left for us to help us settle in. We had a wonderful holiday at Firth View."

"Overall it had everything we wanted, the ensuite sink needed replacing as it was cracked. Steps to front and rear door are quite high and would not suit people with limited mobility. Very clean and well equipped cottage, with regards to local amenities there were non as it is based in a small village but we knew this before booking and it wasn't a problem to us. The Garmouth Hotel / pub / restaurant has now closed down due to Coronavirus and the nearest shops / amenities are approx 5 miles away by car."

"All very high standard - just small things. ie: no radio - we don't watch television! A table in living room for writing/jigsaw puzzle/working would be helpful."

"What a beautiful location by the (v. quiet) beach and the firth of the Spey. Amazing sunsets and sea vistas. A perfect home for a family to stay, quiet, walks nearby and further afield, plus of course the distilleries down the Spey (although not all open to visitors at present, Aug '20). A local coffee roasters on the coast trail. Nearby seal colony, dolphins, RSPB reserve, birdlife, etc etc. Great fish & chip shop and ice cream shops a short drive away in Fochabers. The owner is communicative and friendly, with plenty of info provided. Loads of tourist/local leaflets in the house to browse too. Kitchen well-equipped, wifi decent, comfortable living room. A perfect getaway. Thank you."
