This fabulous detached contemporary cottage is set into the riverbank on the waterside in Noss Mayo. With amazing views up and down the River Yealm and a stylish interior, it is a relaxing waterside retreat for couples. From your car, head through a gate and down steps to the front door. As you step inside you will be bowled over by the fascinating views from the sitting room, all cosy and smart with cool colours and squashy sofas. If required there is space for a child’s single folding bed. There is a table here to dine whilst watching life on the river, enjoying meals prepared in the neat and efficient little kitchen. The double bedroom is restful and romantic The outside is as lovely as the inside, with a table and chairs on a sundeck looking across the river and a quay with slipway and mooring which you share with one other cottage. For suppers on the river bank, wander 500 yards to the popular inns. Visit Plymouth for city lights and amenities, with a wide choice of excellent restaurants and a theatre. Walkers will be spoiled for choice, with woodland footpaths and walks to the Coast Path with stunning cliff top views. Mothecombe has a fabulous sandy beach where Sense and Sensibility was filed or the rock pools and marine conservation centre at Wembury are fascinating. Junket Studio is a lovely base for two in a very beautiful area.

The tiny, pretty village of Noss Mayo is hidden away on the southern bank of the Yealm Estuary and is home to two good pubs. Across the water is the larger village of Newton Ferrers, and you can get between the two villages by a causeway at low tide and a seasonal ferry that operates a triangular route and calls in at the SW Coastal Path, Noss Mayo and Newton Ferrers. Newton Ferrers has a local butcher, chemist and Post Office. The village pub has fantastic views across the water towards Noss Mayo and the creek. The area is blessed with many walks that meander along the waterside and across the fields, while to the north Dartmoor's high tors and open spaces beckon those who love wild country. The city of Plymouth with its shops, Marine Aquarium and Barbican quayside area is just 10 miles away.

“We stayed for a week at Junket Studio during late August and really enjoyed our visit. The apartment is ideal for a couple, and has a very high quality contemporary feel, with a well equipped galley kitchen (including dishwasher and washing machine) and shower room. The place was spotlessly clean when we arrived and the owner, (who lives locally also), was available by phone if we needed anything, and also gave us some great pointers for places to visit and local places to eat out.We were very lucky with the weather and had a week of almost continuous sunshine, and were able to make good use of the full length balcony and open the large sliding doors that look out over the water. There is also a set of steps down to a private quay area that would be great for evening BBQs or just sitting by the water's edge. The apartment also has a dedicated parking space right outside, which was a real plus as parking is at a premium in the area due to the narrow lanes. There are a couple of nice pubs within 1015 mins walk of the apartment that also do food. Our recommendation would be the Ship Inn, although if staying during holiday season its best to book a table as it can get busy of an evening. Some really good local coastal walks starting from Noss Mayo, and Plymouth is a decent sized city with lots of things to see and places to eat out and is about 30mins drive away.I suspect we will be back again at some point as it's a great place to unwind, relax and recharge your batteries!”
