There are boat trips on Loch Linnhe, an excellent museum in the centre of town and of course for the more active a walk up the UK's highest mountain Ben Nevis. You may wish to journey into Glencoe to the visitors centre or tour the west coast and see the magnificent Glenfinnan monument where Bonnie Prince Charlie came ashore in 1745. For a less energetic experience, visit Treasures of the Earth, Europe's finest private collection of crystals, gemstones and fossils. Nearby is the key Highland town of Fort William, a haven for shoppers, seafood enthusiasts and also the outdoor enthusiast, nestling as it does at the foot of the UK's highest mountain, Ben Nevis.
