Situated in Ness, a widespread district in the northern part of the Isle of Lewis with the famous Butt of Lewis, with its majestic Stevenson lighthouse, only a short distance from the cottage. Also close by is the Eoropie Playpark which is set in the sand dunes and makes a great day out for kids and adults alike. Coastal walking from the cottage takes you down to Port of Ness harbour which featured in Peter May’s novel ’Blackhouse.’ The island has so much to offer for a truly ’get away from it all’ experience - the wildlife, bird watching, shark and whale watching are all outstanding. The historic sites of the Callanish Standing Stones, Carloway Broch and Gearrannan Blackhouse Village are all worth a visit with the most pristine white sandy beaches and azure water that will truly amaze you...so come and enjoy! "Our family spent a week at weavers cottage and it was the perfect base for exploring the North of the island.Loved the views from windows at the front and relaxing by the peat fire!"

Iain, July 2019

"This is a lovely cottage in a great location, around 15 minutes walk to a charming sandy cove. The cottage is very well furnished and is very comfortable. The kitchen is well supplied with suitable pots and pans (including a small Le Creuset), scales, sharp knives and so on. There is also a full set of 1:25,000 OS maps for Harris and Lewis. Margaret, the owner, is charming and welcoming. Her weaving workshop is next door to the cottage and she may well give you a demonstration of Harris Tweed weaving. We had a lovely stay!"

"Possible best house I’ve stayed in on holiday. The standard of accommodation and facilities and attention to design and comfort was really great. Made for a very comfortable stay. That combined with the quality of the environment and place, the remoteness of the islands made it a very special holiday."

Michael, July 2019

"This is a stunning holiday home with spectacular views from every room, brilliantly equipped for cooking and relaxing. Great games and bookshelf bursting with great reads. Everything you could need for a family holiday with the added bonus of live weaving demos, a lovely host and the option to take home beautiful tweed with you."

Helena, June 2019

"Great holiday, Margaret is a great host, lovely place to stay."

Jason, June 2019

"Fantastic week, cottage cosy fabulous walks and the beaches near by are amazing. Margeret who owns the cottage is also a weaver and you can see it in action, as she has a out building next to the cottage."

"We had an absolutely wonderful week at Weaver's Cottage. It has everything you could need, spotlessly clean and in a fabulous spot overlooking the sea. Very relaxing and just what we were looking for!"

Gillian, April 2019

"Hi there... We had an incredible time at Weaver's Cottage. The place is kitted out amazingly. From the linen to the crockery, and the little touches like the lamps made of Isle of Harris Gin bottles with Margaret's own lamp shades, literally everything is homely, welcoming and instantly puts you at ease. The kitchen/diner is a great space, and for a couple of foodies it was well kitted out. You'll have a coffee maker or a press and all the kit you could ask for. If you love coffee just bring your favourite grind, you won't have to suffer instant. We really enjoyed cooking in there. The lounge is also very spacious and the couch very comfy. We loved the peat fireplace and once the fire got going there was no better place to be. The master bedroom is again spacious and the views out the front of the cottage made for easy waking up. There's an Alexa which even we don't have at home. It made the portable speaker we bought redundant, but I mention it just to show how well kitted out the cottage is. The broadband was flawless and we could oscillate freely between reading books and binge watching Netflix at night. The telly is a smart TV so you have usual services installed. You have everything you'll need. All you need to bring is yourself and decide how you want to unwind. There's a very good library on hand if you didn't bring books with assorted games to boot. I was introduced to Boggle by my girlfriend! The bathroom is nice, and the hot water came on instantly, which was welcome! In terms of Port of Ness well it is remote, so you should do a big shop in Stornoway. The Cross Stores nearby however is also great for smaller shops. Their black pudding and grocery range is v. good and their black pudding sausage roll is to die for. In terms of location of the cottage, neither the Port itself or the beach are far, and having the view out the front makes it all worthwhile. To top it off Margaret is very welcoming and will look after you. If you are interested in seeing her weaving machine, do ask, as it's awesome and Meg her pooch is super friendly. There are a further two bedrooms in the loft, we can't comment on these as we haven't used them. However I think kids would absolutely love them as it gives them their own space to unwind. We spent a week but could have very easily stayed longer. Can't recommend the cottage enough if you are looking to relax in style with the remote, stark beauty that is on offer, I can tell you that you have found your little nest."

Laszlo, January 2019

"The cottage was clean, modern, warm, well equipped and brilliantly located at the North of Lewis. Margaret the host was very helpful. I would have no hesitation in recommending Weavers Cottage."

Adrian, October 2018

"Lovely cottage in an amazing place at the northern tip of Lewis. Port of Ness is a great wee place as are all the villages and the coastline here. The owner was really helpful and gave great insights into the weaving business of Harris Tweed. This is absolutely somewhere we have on a list of places to return."

Paul, October 2018
